Tilman Fertitta, Houston businessman and CEO of Landry's Inc., will star in CNBC's new original primetime series "Billion Dollar Buyer."

The new original series will premiere on March 22 on CNBC at 9 p.m. central time. According to a press release, CNBC's new reality show will introduce small businesses from across the nation to Fertitta to help the startup companies.

Fertitta has an annual supply spend of $2 billion and he ranks as one of the wealthiest businessmen in the country. He oversees 500 properties and more than 50 restaurants, hotels and entertainment brands from the high-end Mastro's and Morton's The Steakhouse to the mainstream such as Rainforest Café, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., Saltgrass Steak House, and five Golden Nugget Casinos.

The show will chronicle Fertitta scouting the country for the most innovative new products. The hour-long episodes will show him spending time with two small businesses, sampling their goods, getting to know their owners and see if they would fit with Landry's. He'll share his advice with the companies and push for improvements.
